the start of my hat.

I have started the hat i will wear on Melbourne cup day.

though it is a bit of a challenge this time :oh:

I am recycling one i have worn before, so i took off the flowers, ribbon feathers and bits and pieces and the net that was over the base..and ended up with a plain hat again.

It is made of a stiff material, so i cut round it except for 4 '' of the back as i want to make something different this year.. i thought loops over the top??

mm... thats not how it ended up as i had trouble keeping the loops up there as i don't have any wire and the shop is to far away, so i will make do with some fluffy long things that have wire in them, and used those, so i still have the loop look :yes:

I cut the top around in circles as well so it goes up too..i put some netting in to hold it..

so now the good bit..the flowers ect to go on.
