I found this old book of handy tips from 1979 and i liked them so i thought

I would share some with you. I will put one or two on each day.

Tip 1

Boiling milk. Adding a pinch of salt and putting the pan in cold water

will remove the burnt taste from scorched milk.

I expect this tip will only help me, as we all know my success in the kitchen

I wish i had read this sooner...lol

The Very Best Of Helpful hints, published by S.R.I. Publishing Co. Pty Ltd.

tip 2

RICE

squeeze lemon juice onto the boiling rice, rice will whiten and the grains separates. :yay:

Now this next one is one I know you will all be excited to learn.
My mum especially, as she likes to catch the xmas pud on fire :yahoo:

tip 3

Flambé flop.

If the liquor won't ignite, heat the fresh liquor separately in a spoon over a flame,
add to the hot food and ignite. :amen:

tip 4

Smelly cabbage.
put stale bread on top of boiling cabbage, helps to absorb the smell. :good:
